Buckwheat porridge recipe

Buckwheat porridge is a healthy food with many health benefits.

Ingredients:

  • Family Harvest™ Buckwheat groats – 1 cup
  • Water – 2 cups
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Butter – 20-30 g
  • Garlic – 2 cloves (optional)
  • Mushrooms (champignons or wild mushrooms) – 150 g
  • Onion – 1 small head
  • Olive oil – 1-2 tablespoons
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or dill) – for serving
  • Spices: ground black pepper, dried thyme – to taste

Step-by-step recipe:

  1. Preparing buckwheat: Sort and rinse the buckwheat.
  1. Preparing mushrooms and onions:
  • Cut the mushrooms into small pieces.
  • Finely chop the onion.
  • Finely chop the garlic or grate it on a fine grater.
  1. Frying:
  • Heat the olive oil in a frying pan.
  • Add the onion and fry for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  • Add the mushrooms, a little salt and thyme. Fry until they are browned (5-7 minutes).
  • Finally, add the garlic and fry for another 30 seconds. Remove the frying pan from the heat.
  1. Cooking the porridge:
  • Boil the water in a saucepan, add salt.
  • Add the buckwheat, reduce the heat to low, and cook, covered, for 15-20 minutes until the water is absorbed.
  1. Combining the ingredients:
  • As soon as the buckwheat is ready, add the butter and mix. Then, add the fried mushrooms and onions and mix with the porridge.
  • Sprinkle the dish with fresh herbs and black pepper before serving.
