Buckwheat porridge is a healthy food with many health benefits.
Ingredients:
- Family Harvest™ Buckwheat groats – 1 cup
- Water – 2 cups
- Salt – ½ teaspoon
- Butter – 20-30 g
- Garlic – 2 cloves (optional)
- Mushrooms (champignons or wild mushrooms) – 150 g
- Onion – 1 small head
- Olive oil – 1-2 tablespoons
- Fresh herbs (parsley or dill) – for serving
- Spices: ground black pepper, dried thyme – to taste
Step-by-step recipe:
- Preparing buckwheat: Sort and rinse the buckwheat.
- Preparing mushrooms and onions:
- Cut the mushrooms into small pieces.
- Finely chop the onion.
- Finely chop the garlic or grate it on a fine grater.
- Frying:
- Heat the olive oil in a frying pan.
- Add the onion and fry for 2-3 minutes until translucent.
- Add the mushrooms, a little salt and thyme. Fry until they are browned (5-7 minutes).
- Finally, add the garlic and fry for another 30 seconds. Remove the frying pan from the heat.
- Cooking the porridge:
- Boil the water in a saucepan, add salt.
- Add the buckwheat, reduce the heat to low, and cook, covered, for 15-20 minutes until the water is absorbed.
- Combining the ingredients:
- As soon as the buckwheat is ready, add the butter and mix. Then, add the fried mushrooms and onions and mix with the porridge.
- Sprinkle the dish with fresh herbs and black pepper before serving.
